Faguo has the highest overall score in our October 2026 data (8.5/10), with a range that runs from sneakers to bags. Patagonia (8.3) and Veja (8.2) complete the podium.
A full-grain leather sneaker on a stitched or solidly mounted rubber sole lasts two to three years of regular wear. In our ranking of the best sneaker brands for men, Faguo comes first (8.6/10) ahead of Veja (8.3) and Le Coq Sportif (7.9).
Fabric weight gives a first indication (300 g/m² or more for a sweatshirt, 160 to 200 g/m² for a t-shirt). Then check the composition, the topstitched seams and the ribbing. Our guide to the sweatshirt that doesn't pill covers each point.
A recycled cotton t-shirt costs 35 to 47 euros from the brands in our panel, and a pair of leather trainers 110 to 165 euros. The upfront price is higher than on the high street, but spread over the years of wear, a piece that lasts often works out cheaper than a cheap one replaced every season.
Take them back to the brand if it runs a take-back scheme, or drop them in a Refashion collection bank once they are past second-hand resale. Several brands give a voucher for a piece returned in store, and Patagonia repairs and resells its own through Worn Wear.
